Nature-Friendly Ornament Making Workshop
December 8 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
In collaboration with the Castine Arts Association
When: Sunday, December 8 (drop-in 12 – 3 pm)
Location: Wilson Museum’s Hutchins Education Center, 112 Perkins St, Castine
Program Description
The Wilson Museum is delighted to offer a nature-friendly ornament making workshop in collaboration with the Castine Arts Association on Sunday, December 8! Stop by the museum’s Hutchins Education Center anytime between 12 and 3 pm to make fun and festive decorations! Supplies for ornaments will be provided by both organizations and participants are welcome to bring must-have craft supplies from home, as long as they are nature-friendly. (Visit the museum’s calendar of events for recommendations on what type of craft supplies to use.) This is a free event and all ages are welcome!
In connection with this workshop, the Wilson Museum is participating in the Castine Arts Association’s fifth annual Holiday Tree Trail as a satellite location! This tradition invites individuals and families to choose a tree along a designated trail in Witherle Woods Preserve and adorn that tree with nature-friendly decorations. This year, the community is welcome to also decorate trees of all kinds on the Wilson Museum campus! The tree decorating project runs November 29 through January 6 and decorating may take place anytime during that timeframe. Those who decorate are asked to remove all their decorations during the week following January 6. The Holiday Tree Trail in Witherle Woods Preserve is in cooperation with the Maine Coast Heritage Trust.
